Illustration + Design

I’ve always been interested in the complexity of insects, how they move, how they’ve survived, and the biological processes of the bottom end of the food chain. Looking for inspiration for an infographic, I turned to the honey bee one day, researching the rise and decline of habitat, disease, and types of bees. After spending so much time researching the importance of bees to the world, I decided to illustrate a drone, queen, and worker bee carefully. I fell in love with the grooves and textures of the bee and knew I wanted to pick another critter that always fascinated me: the scorpion. This leads me to create posters of both to show them as delicate and colorful critters instead of a nuisance or threat. Next up? The Diamond Back Rattlesnake.
